Block Heaters ROCK!
Oh boy,
When I put the engine back into my truck this spring I put a block heater into a core plug hole first. I didn't get to try it until a week or so ago and MAN, do I LOVE it!
I'm telling you guys, the instantaneous heat is worth the <$25 it costs you (wish my heat worked
). Anytime I have an engine out of a car/truck from now on, it's going to have one of these in the block before the engine goes back in!
I bought it at the local O'reilly's and it is under the KAT's (I think) product line. I've decided that one of the freeze plugs back by the oil cooler might be the best location (that's where GM puts them on the assembly line) to heat the water AND the oil a bit better.
If you're getting ready to put in an engine, spend an extra 20 each of dollars and minutes and put one of these babies in there.
You'll thank me on those cold mornings
