85 v8 alt vs 88 v6 alt?
Well, I have my 120amp alt that I ran on my 2.8, I wanted to keep it since i did pay for it and it is 120amp. But it seems I will have to custom make a dang bracket. I've tried multiple brackets, but nothing works. SO, should I get an alt for an 85 v8, or can I swap my alt guts into a diff case or what? Also, whats the diff between a 1 wire and the others? My current alt had a pig tail with 3-4 wires (i dont have pigtail anymore, and it's been a long while since i've seen it)

thanks for the link. Man, that is not cool. My problem is getting an alt that will work with my bracket and my under drive pulleys AND I need to find a pigtail for it.

The underdrive pulley should work on any alt that fits your bracketry. The stock 85 V8 alt uses a flat connector with two terminals to plug into the alt, one wire goes to a bolt terminal on the back, the other goes to the volt meter in the cluster. Another wire comes out of the bolt terminal and goes to the battery.
I was lucky enough to find a brand new one of those at the scrappers. Was even more lucky to find a 9 bolt rear end in the same car. Wasn't so lucky dragging the damn thing out of there myself.
