Advantages and disadvantages of 6” rods with stock stroke.

I know that eagle offers stock replacement rotating assemblies (3.48 stroke x 4.03 bore) with a six inch rod. I know that the stock rod length is 5.7”. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of using the 6” rod with a stock stroke. Thanks for helping me out again you guys!

There *** can*** be a slight top end power advantage using a longer than stock rod in a 350ci SBC. BUT!!! Untill you've spent ever last dollar on the best heads intake and exhaust money can buy, you're wasting your money on long rods.
Get he best power parts availiable ( heads, intake exhaust, valvetrain etc) before you even think about long(er) connecting rods. the gain is slight ( and mostly hype) compared to the power you'll gain with good induction and exhaust.

The 400 SBC is another matter. Going to a 5.7" rod from the stock 5.565" rod is just good stuff. If you're going to to build a 400, build it with 5.7" rods.
