Is there any possible way to change the plug wires?

Well today it took me 2 hours to do a simple cap and rotor change because of some complications. So I was in no mood to try and change the wires too. But I was looking at them and it looks as if they go down and dissapear. you can't even see the plugs just by looking under the hood. You have to move a whole pile of hoses and stuff out of the way. I was just wondering if anyone found an easy way to replace the wires? The drivers side lookes easier to do than the pass. side.

It looks harder than it actually is. You should be able to reach the front wires/plugs from under the hood. I found it easier to get to the rear ones from underneath the car. SAFETY FIRST! Use a good set of jackstands or ramps; and don't forget to chock the rear wheels, etc. etc..

What you need is some headers so that you can see the spark plugs

Matthew,

No, I'm sorry, but once the plug wires are shot, you have to scrap the car...

Anyway, it isn't that difficult, but can be time consuming to do correctly. The plastic wire looms have to be released, then the wires need to be routed and clipped in place. Plan to spend a couple of hours under the hood and under the car to do it the way the factory did.

Obviously, you only want to do this once since it is such a PITA. Choose good quality wires, like Packard Electric silicone resistor wire. Don't forget to apply dielectric silicone grease to the boots at both ends, both where the boot engages the spark plug and distributor cap, and where the boot covers the wire. This makes for an excellent water seal.

At least you don't have an LT1 with OptiSpark - those are a REAL pain in the, umm, fingers.

BUS-TED! Guess I need to read my own posts a little better before hitting that "SUBMIT" button.

What I meant was, oh, never mind...
