Trying to decipher what this connector is next to my fan relay

Trying to decipher what this connector is next to my fan relay
Right next to my fan relay which is mounted next to the radiator on the support is another connector. It's not plugged into anything at the moment. Tracing the wires back, they go into the wire loom and off into the harness somewhere towards the motor along the passenger side.
This connector looks exactly like the one used for the fan.
Does anyone know what this might be?
I can get a pic of its exact location if needed.

My brother's 87 GTA had a dangly unused connector that looked exactly like the one used for the fan relay, too, and in exactly the place you describe. We thunk and thunk and thunk until our thinkers were all thunked out.
The answer: It was for the SECOND fan relay! Duh. The car had dual fans. Somebody had previously melted down the second relay (no idea how but the unused connector was slightly melted looking, so that's what we assumed happened) and decided just to yank the relay and go on with just one working fan. After fixing the somewhat melted connector and snagging another fan relay we had both fans working like a champ again.
Check your wiring harness and see if your car isn't an original dual fan setup (or used to be before someone rigged it up). Original TPI cars got the dual fans.
