clutch pedal and squeaking

i noticed that when i start my car and i am just sitting there i hear a squeaking/rattleing noise, i first thought it was my exhaust but when i just touch the clutch pedal it stops the noise, any ideas on why this is like that?

Throwout bearing, perhaps?

uhh, this may be obvious, but have you tried sticking you head up under the dash and looking at the pedals?

they pivoit on plastic bushings, it may just be worn...

Squeaking sound when the pedal isn't depressed?

Pedal shaking when the pedal is depressed?

Sounds like a throwout bearing issue, in one form or another. The bearing could be the culprit, or the victim.

no i haven't had the time really to look at it, they'll yell at ya too if your trying to do anything with your car here on campus, but if the clutch isn't pushed in it makes a squeaking noise.but if i just barley touch the pedal it stops shaking and squeaking. if its the throw out i'll fix it when its stroed over winter.

thanks for the help though
