new crate engine? or rebuilt stroked L98?

Hey guys, I currently have a 305 tpi in my TA and I'm going to do a 350 conversion. I was debaiting which is better. To just buy a new crate engine for 2 or 3 K and try to get it to fit. Or to just buy an L98 and rebuild it and stroke it out. I know a lot of you guys have done similar things in the past so any advice would be appreciated.

I always prefer to build over buy, because you can pick your own internals, and usually get more HP for less $.

If you have the time, I would rebuild. If you do some research you can build the engine with your desired results in mind. For instance if you want low 12's or if nitrous is a possibility than you would build the bottom end differently than if you only wanted high 13's/low 14's. And you know what they say, the only way to make sure something is done right is to do it yourself. If you plan on building yourself it would be worth it to go pick up a copy of Desktop Dyno and play around with different setups. Good luck!

When you decide what you want to use in your rebuild, email me and I'll run it on Dyno 2000 for you and get you a ballpark HP and torque reading.
