Spark plug wire problem please help

So a code 42 came up... I checked the ignition module and had it tested which came up good. One thing i noticed was the spark plug wire from the coil to dist. is kinda loose on the coil. Could this cause a 42? Like normally there is a little resistance when removing plug wires but this came off with no resistance at all. I noticed there is what looks like a place for some kind of clip to lock the wire to the coil. Anyone know what i'm talking about and where i can get one of these clips or if you know a better solution? thanks in advance

Start checking the wiring at the distributor, and to the knock sensor. You can try to "dummy" the knock sensor with a 3900 ohm resistor to see if the code repeats.

and by clip do you mean the metal fitting inside the spark plug wire boot that attaches onto the terminal, or a clip that goes over the outside of the boot?

i had the same problem with the wire being loose on my #2 spark plug wire, the fitting had somehow gotten bent and wouldnt stay on like it should. had to take a pair of pliers and bend it back into a circle, took a couple tries to get it to fit.
