305 vs 350 knock sensor part numbers??

I've gone through the archives and seen that everybody and their brother (me included) always says to change the knock sensor on a 305 to 350 swap. But, somebody on my board, along with Kevin91z seems to think that until 1990, the 305 and 350 TPI cars used the same knock sensor. Does anybody have information on this?

I know they are tuned to a different frequency because the bore size is different. The diff size bore makes a different sound.
You can have my knock sensor if you want.

Thanks, but I don't need your knock sensor. I've been well aware that 350s and 305s use a different sensor, but it's come to my attention recently that for the TPI cars, they actually carry the same part number. I'm just trying to find out whether there is truth to this.

Jim, they dont carry the same P/N. The autopart stores are WRONG. A while back, I purchased a KS for my 92 Vert. Well, turns out that they gave me the wrong sensor. In 90, GM switched to a 3.9k Ohm KS as opposed to the old style 100 Ohm one. Well, none of the parts stores knew about this, and all had the same one listed. I finally found a local non-commercial parts store who had the correct one... I just brought my Volt meter to make sure it was the 3.9 instead of the 100.
