Trouble Code
Trouble Code
Hey Guys,
My '86 Iroc Camaro is throwing a trouble code 36. Since this code doesn't seem to exsist according to the shop manual, I was at a loss. I recently had to have the MAF replaced because it was going bad, and the car has not been running right since. The car seems to choke and try to die when I put my foot on the gas, but only when it is cold. If I apply more gas it will usually hesitate a couple more times, then rev up and accelerate normally. I also think one of the cyliders may be occasionally/randomly misfiring. Any of you heard of a code 36?? Any ideas???
Thanks!!

This is pointing to a MAF burn off circuit. A relay that throws a high voltage to the MAF element for a couple seconds after you shut off the engine. It's a cleaning operation for the sensor. Could be a bad relay or blown fuse? Not sure on the 86 but some models have this relay just above the brake master cylinder on the driver's side under the hood.
