Coolant leaking while cars sits....

I get small puddles of coolant residing in the drivers side of the base manifold "valleys". Kind of where the the head meets the intake. The puddles seem to appear more as the car sits. When I was driving it steadily this summer, the coolant was not appearing. I won't be driving my car any more since winter is coming. I think I had this same problem last year. I am quite sure it is NOT the thermostat housing doing the leaking.

I have had the plenum and runners off before, but not the base manifold. Is this just a gasket leaking? Or something more serious?
Anyone else seen this conditon?

Thanks for any tips.

Sounds like an intake gasket.

When you have the intake manifold off, look real good at the manifold surface surounding the water ports. These are prone to corrosion and I have seen them so pitted the intake has to be repaired or replaced.

Thanks for the tip. The car has just under 60,000 miles, you wouldn't think it would be corroded yet. But my car has been sitting winters for the last 9 years, maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe it's just a bad seal with the intake gasket from the beginning.

Now that I have a reason to pull that manifold, time for some more port work. Good winter project.

Anyone else?

I got some too, it was the intake gasket. Eay fix, but it's a pain in the butt to change with all the wiring in the way
