Just flashed codes, now could someone tell me what it all means?

If it matters at all, the car is an 85 LB9 IROC. I did everything just like it says in the tech article on this page and this is what happened:

Tried jumping circuit 6 to 12 and got nothing. Jump circuit 5 to 6 and SES light flashed the "12" thing once. (didn't do it three times in a row)

After the first twelve it flashed 3 times then paused....

Then it flashed 4 times and paused...

Then it flashed 3 times again and paused....

Then it flashed 4 times and paused...

Then it flashed 3 times and paused....

Then it flashed 4 times and paused...

Then it repeated the "12" code again, then it went into the 3/4 flash sequence above again.

I have not even the slightest clue as to what all this means, so could someone help me out?

Eric

you have a trouble code 34. i don't have my manual in front of me but find code 34 in your manual for your engine and follow the trouble shooting flow down

ohhh, well i guess that would make sense then. I just looked it up and it says :

34. low voltage (high vaccuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)

Thanks for the help,
Eric

Code 34 is set because ECM sees low voltage at CKT 998. If you disconnect the mass air flow and the code 34 repeats then the wiring or ECM is at fault. If the burn off cycle has not been functioning the MASS Air flow sensor output may become low enough to set code 34.
Low air flow means low voltage. check for instake leaks around the throttle body or dirty air filters or blockage to the air intake.

It'll tell you what all the codes mean. To help you diagnois the problem, get a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual, or both. I've heard they both tell you stuff that the other doesn't.
