Heads

Brought home some cylinder heads today. I have several sets of 624's and 882's, all with 2.02 valves except for one pair of 882's. The problem is, I can't find this mystery pair anywhere, not even on mortec. Pic attached..

The serial number is either 3888820 or 3888920.

< Heads >

Whoa, stop the music. New (dumb) kid on the block. Man I have recently a roadster, and have come to realize that the heads are just what you are talking about. Thankfully my heads do match, but in agremenet with yours, my numbers are definitely 3888820. Does anyone have any idea where they actually came from. Everyone I have talked to in the pro shops here in the Portland Oregon area, have basically "all" told me that the darned things (as far as chevrolet is concerned) do not exist... HELP... As I want to do is increase my cam a little bit to acquire a subtle looping sound...... George

Re: Heads

Never seen nor heard of a 820 sbc head. But lots of 920 heads. Its a pre '75 76 cc large chamber head. Heavier casting than late 462624 or 882.
A nicer head. much like a 441 head. I have a pair here all ported 1.94x1.50 ready to go on my 305 blower engine.
Great for budget blower sbc engines where a low compression ratio is desired.
They flow good once fully ported. Same job as porting a 441 or a 305 ho head 4416 for power.
A better head than 462624 or 882.

Re: Heads

Often a 9 looks like a 8 on sbc heads.
