need help setting timing
i've got some pretty extensive mods, and i thought modded motors were supposed to be able to run 10-12 degrees of advance without any trouble. my car seems to run alright like this, but a bit of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. not thick or anything, just hazy, like if its cold out.
i back it off to about 6 advanced and it doesnt do it anymore.
i also have a bit of gas dripping out of my pipes, couple drops a minute. i would think id want to turn down the fuel pressure, but its already only at 40.
im still learning about tuning, any tips are greatly appreciated.

I doubt it's gas dripping out your tailpipe. If it was, you'd be blowing your mufflers off. Normally what drips out the tailpipe is water. It's a byproduct of combustion.
Timing is more than just base timing. Increasing the base timing also increases the total timing. If total timing runs best at 32* and you bump the base timing up 6 more then the total timing is now 38* and you could be losing power because of that.

but what causes the white haze? if its hot out i only see it on startup or if the engine is idling really low and stumbles a bit. today it was about 60 degrees and raining out and it was doing it as it idled normally.
it did this whether at base or total timing.
any recommendations for a fuel pressure setting with my mods? im running a 10:1 ratio. mod list is in sig.
i guess i just want tips on how to get my car running the best it can.

is the smoke just condensation? its definitely white and not blue. will the engine run healthier if i leave it at 6 base with no smoke or does it matter?
is there any way i can check my computer for knocks without a laptop?
