figuring your horsepower?

I know there is an equation somewhere to find out how much horsepower you have from your 1/4 mile time. The only problem is, I can't find it. I checked the equations page, no luck. I thought I'd post and see if one of you guys could help me out. Thanx

MPH = 234.74 x (cubic root of power/weight)

HP = (MPHx.00426)x(MPH x.00426)x(MPH x.00426)
This is for rear wheel HP or net hp when the weight and MPH@ the end of 1/4 mile is known.

There is no real reliable formula for finding the hp from the 1/4 mi. ET because
traction can vary, a bad launch or improper shift point will throw off the ET. But MPH will be effected very little.
Flywheel HP is generaly 15 to 20% greater than rearwheel HP. but can vary.
At least it makes for some interesting bench racing....

You forgot the weight term:

HP = (0.00426 x mph)<SUP>3</SUP> x weight

Thanx for the help, I knew there was a formula but didn't remember what it was. I'm heading to the track on wednesday. If I can get my tires to bite hopefully I'll have a fairly accurate HP reading. Thanx again.
