Stock manifolds without heat shields

finally got done with my 350 TPI "refreshening". i am wondering tho if leaving the heat shields out will cause any problems with plug wire burning? i think the only plug that comes real close to the manifold is #8. the rest look like would be ok. i rather not put back the shields if i dont have to. thanks.

Looks nice.
Must admit i have no heatsheilds, and as long as the leads are not draped on top of the manifolds, theres been no problems.
Just used a few tie-clips as back up.

i left my heatshields off too when i had the heads off. ive had it like that for a few months with no problems. they were just to much of a pain in the *** to put back on

Do you have the manifolds on there for cam break-in? Or are those your "permanent fixture" for exhaust?

The heat sheild wont matter if it's for a cam break-in.

If you are going to drive it daily like that, it would probably be a better idea to (beside getting headers) make sure you organize your wires very well, and make sure your brake lines are out of the way as well as any wires or anything else that used to clip onto the heat sheild.

thanx guys. the manifolds are staying there. i dunno if/when i will be putting this one in my Formula. my current engine runs fine. the one i just worked on is all stock. all i did was replace the oil pump, timing chain, sprockets, freeze plugs, new gaskets/seals and had the heads worked. it was running way too perfect and i just left the internals alone.
