HP Differences Year to Year

I am wondering if anyone knows the HP rating from year to year on L98's. Are some years more powerful than others and if so, what is responsible for this (better intake, cam etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

86-89: 230hp@4000 300ftlb@3200

90-92: 240hp@4400 345ftlb@3200

These are chiltons ratings and what is weird is that they list the 90 with 9.3:1cr and 91-92 with 9.8:1 even though they supposidly make the same power.

I think it is 330. Is it just tyhe speed density system that is responsible for the extra HP and tq? Or is it the dual cat setup?
