problems starting
My brother is having troubles starting his 86 White Firebird. He has a 2.8L V6. He says he has spark, and fuel coming in, it turns over, it just won't start. My suggestion to him would be to change his belts, something might be loose, or maybe the starter. Does that sound right, or do y'all have any other suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Air, fuel, compression, ignition - in the proper amounts at the proper time.
One or more of those isn't.

It's just as simple as five7kid said...
Check the compression. Maybe something really bizarre happened. My bet, though, is that the car's faking you on one of these. A weak spark looks OK to someone not used to looking at it, but it still may not ignite the mix.

Thanks for the info folks, I'll pass it on to my brother. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I'm stuck out to sea on my ship right now. I'll let y'all know what we found out after I get back. Thanks again guys for the advice.
