On my car, passenger side is the PCV while the drivers side is just a 90* connector (breather hose?) this is the way its supposed to be right?

can't verify the '89. but, my '86 has the PCV on the driver's side and the 90* elbow to the TB on the passenger side.

It doesn't matter which side they're on as long as the PCV and breather aren't on the same side. Air is supposed to be drawn in through the breather, down into the crankcase through the head, up into the other head, and out through the PCV valve.

the breather goes to the TB and the PVC valve goes to the intake manifold.
