Chevy 302/327?

I will be replacing my engine soon, and I am not sure what engine i want to put in. I might jsut put in another 400, but I wouldnt mind having something that can rev, which a 400 will not do. What kind of rpms can a 302 or a 327 do? Also, would either of these motors be a good candidate for a turbo or a blower?

7500 rpm? Sweet! Also, since I've already got the 400 block to rebuild, what about a 377? does anyone know what kind of rpm they will turn out? Also, Could I use stock internals or are they too weak? And is a 400 block bottom end strong enough for 6 or 7 thousand rpm or would i need something like a girdle for the main caps

Stud the mains. I would not recommend going with aftermarket caps/4bolt splayed caps unless you have to align bore and are planning NOS.

Don't use a stock cast crank. Get a cat (word of late is that CAT sucks), SCAT crank or at lest a steel 350 crank. You can find a new forging for less than 400bucks on ebay.

Use a high quality rod. like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=597702305

As in the camz28 tread, try to decide how fast you want to go, then gear the motor to be near that rpm at the end of the run (what ever run you plan), and from that you will know how much hp you will need and how high to turn it.
