Please Help, Breather Problem?

Ok, when i installed the open element, i saw that my stock breather that is connected to the stock snorkel, "that little white sponge", was soaked in gas, at least i think it was gas? I took it off, and i saw that their was an extremely brown fluid on the little rubber hose, smells like gas. Would anyone know what this might be? I know i need to put new gaskets on my valve covers, but i don't think that has anything to do with it? Thanx for any info guys! Laters!

the brown liquid it prolly oil since it is a breather... and the reason maybe smelling like gas is because it's right by something thats flowing gas through it (carb). You have nothing to worry about... everythings fine..
