u-joint and motor mount question

What sort of noise, if any, would a worn u-joint make ? And how about worn motor mounts, and worn trans mounts ? I am getting a rattle in low end of all 3 forward gears (but not all the time) . No rattle in neutral. Sounds like it is coming from rear of engine. I don't think it is ping, because the noise shows up sometimes when DEcelerating too. The drive is smooth, no vibration except a tiny pulsing when going uphill. It's on my daily driver Caprice 305, very high mileage, original mounts and u-joints.

Thanks

to tell bad motor mounts is hold the brake down and give the engine gas, eather have to hood open and look yourself or have someout outside looking to watch the engine, if it moves more the about 2-3" then the motor mounts are shot, ujoints when loose will make a loud "CLUNK" when you slow down or start off, also to tell if have the car in park, jack it up and grab the driveshaft and try to twist it back and forth if it will move more then an inch then the ujoints are shot.
