Trans Am smoked taillight conversion?

Hey guys, I have a question for ya. I have an 89 Firebird Formula and I want to get the 85-90 style smoked grid Trans Am taillights to replace my stock taillights. Will this work? Is it possible to do correctly? Thanks!
