What to do about knock sensor?

I am looking at an 83 z-28 with an LG-4. The engine harness has seen better days so Im thinking I would rewire it with a harness from an 84 Z-28 with an L-69. My question is, what to do about the knock sensor wire in the 84 harness? The 83 LG-4 would have no knock sensor, right? Iv heard stuff about using a resistor and Ive also heard to just not hook it up and the computer won't care. What do I do?

Put in a knock sensor if you use the L69 computer. If you use the 83 LG4 computer, it doesn't know anything about a knock sensor anyway, so just tape the wire back into the harness.

If you use it, it screws into the block where the pass side coolant drain plug goes.

So I could use the 84 L-69 harness with the 83 LG4 computer? What are the difference between the two ECM's? The L-69 has a little better timing curve is all I've heard.
