You'll be okay using steel bolts in aluminum, what other kind is there? Just be sure to use some kind of thread anti cease on the threads that go into aluminum, otherwise the steel has a tendency to bond with the aluminum and pull threads when you go to take them off.

edit- I like to use the stainless steel alan head bolts from the hardware store, the smaller head size fits better around some holes in the manifold and they look better.

Use stainless steel with aluminum. You'll need a thread sealer, not anti-seize.

ok i have steel bolts, but i had to get the head machined, becuase of an intake leak, the china wall gaskets, and when i did i stripped the bolt and aluminum came off with the bolt, like what you said, i will use thread sealant like you said, anti seize, cost me 40$CAD, both holes in the back of the head for the intake were stripped and on an angle.

thanks for the help

Which aluminum heads do you have? A lot of them come with the bolt holes helicoiled from the factory.
