vacuum diagram w/out emmisions?
Im looking for a vacuum diagram with out the emisions control on it. i need to know the basic vacuums for the car to run properly. im pulling everything out tomarrow i.e. A/C, Heater hoses, emmisions ect. i want to hopefully have it running by the end of this weekend.

You need to leave the vacuum hoses for the EGR system (from the carb to EGR solenoid and from there over to the valve itself). SOME people can get away with eliminating the EGR valve system completely but sometimes it will throw an EGR valve inoperative code. It's a 50/50 shot. I prefer to leave it functional but some people have removed it completely and never gotten a code. This is the only "iffy" area.
VAC sensor. Gotta leave that hooked up. Little black box about the size of a match box mounted up on the fire wall with a vacuum line going to it from the back of the carb and a 3-wire electrical plug going to the ECM.
PCV valve- still want to keep that hooked up to the big port on the front of the carb.
Power brake booster- obviously you still want that hooked up to the big port on the BACK of the carb, if you want power brakes.
Line from the vacuum fitting on the intake manifold behind the carb- that supplies vacuum to the HVAC vacuum servos under the dash so the air blows out the vents you select. You want to keep that hooked up, too, obviously.
Literally ALL other vacuum lines can be eliminated. Everything to/from the charcoal canister, the AIR injection system, the vacuum line to the THERMAC system in the stock air cleaner assy, EFE valve system, etc. All of them can go. It's a LOT less cluttered under the hood without all that stuff and there will be NO drivability problems, no "check engine" codes or any other problems if you do it correctly.
I should note that you can NOT start eliminating electrical connections in the same manner. Almost all electrical connections are important to proper engine operation, under the control of the ECM.

thanks for the info, im running a carb. im not worried about throwing check engine signals, they are always on and off with the emisions set up anyways.
one canister i noticed sat in the battery box on the driver side, originally ran to the carb and fuel tank. dont know what this is. im going to research on this. but pretty much im looking to take everything possible out, with out any big losses in power.

That's the evap canister (the coffee can-looking object). I'd keep that.
Relocating it is also an option, if under-hood decorating is what you are after.

i plan to do alot of relocating and cleaning up. my main concern is after i tear it down tomarrow i reconnect all the vacuums ect. that need to be there. thats why im looking for a diagram with out the emisions stuff, because im holding off on that.
