low idle & odd start ups.......

o.k. this has been bothering me for a while, but each time i start my car in the morning the car starts for a second and immediately dies. then i crank it over and it starts, and it idles at 750 till i tap the gas then the choke operates like it should at about 1300 rpms. after it warms up for a few minutes, i put it in drive and usually its a pretty hard *thrust* into gear. im not sure but its probably bushings somewhere. as im driving for a while and i come to stops, the car idles at a little over 500 rpm, which seems too low. shouldn't it idle and 750? heres some stuff on my car- i set my timing at 0*, ive got new bosch platinums, new bosch wires, accel cap and rotor, msd coil, 180* stat, doesn't burn any oil, and 117,200 on the clock. my choke thermostat is new, and adjusting it right seems to be impossible. all of this and i get about 11 miles to a gallon. any help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the essay

As far as I know, your idle speed (in Drive) should be 450-500 rpm's, thast what mine is set at, and it works fine. It does run highed b4 the engine is fully warmed up...
