will this rust??

i just got my pistons delivered to me and i was wondering if i should spray some WD-40 on em to keep from rusting. it wont be a real long time til i get it all put together, but i am in college so it is going a little slow right now. they are just reg. hyper pistons.

this just crossed my mind. i have my blocked sprayed down with a lil WD-40 also, is it ok to leave remains of WD-40 in the cylinder bores when i go to put the engine together or am i having to completely remove all the remains before i get the lower end together>?

if anyones curious: 406, speed pro flattops, eagle sirlightweights, stock crank, i need cam recomendations to go with some afr/s 210!!! anybody want to help with this one?

Car: Yes

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Pistons are aluminum. They won't rust even without WD-40.

Leaving the WD-40 on the block won't bother anything.

When you build the motor, use 2-stroke oil as your build lube on the rings.

I'd suggest a Comp XE274H cam, with 1.6 roller rockers.

no rings yet, i posted this to early in the morning i was thinking that the pistons were 5140 steel, like the Sirlightweight rods that im ordering, i knew they were aluminum. i have the stock 400 rods sitting in the garage and they are starting to rust, but they've been out in the rain and shine for a lil while. i'll keeping all parts indoors til i ready for the build.

wd-40 everything except what you want to pant. It'll all burn off anyway. Aluminum will corrode but not with rust. It's more like white chalk. It'll take a long time to do so though. A little prevention...

Cant go wrong with wd40, it cures everything, and will keep corrosion at bay.
