What gear to get

I have a 438 big block 11.5 compression with a 595 lift cam, 2800 stall and a 700r4. I want to get 4:10 but a friend also mentioned 456. What do you guys recommend. Thank you

4.10 is pretty steep and the 700r4s have fairly steep first gears too, i would say go with something like 3.73s if you feel it doesnt have enough coming out of the hole.

What do you plan on doing with this car? strip or street/highway?

What are you running at the track?

60' times?
ET?
MPH?
RPM at end of track?

I think if you go with any 4.xx you will find yourself reading the newspaper about 1/2 way down the track unless that engine pulls to 8k RPM
