board archives

ok, this is off topic but it is an important topic for everyone here. to put it bluntly, the board archive search engine sucks. its next to impossible to find what your looking for. you have to enter the exact topic heading or it wont get what you want. and the only topics it has are all like 5 years old and still in the super-old board format. is that just the way the archives are set up or are those just posts from the old boards and thats all it will acess? for the amount of times i have heard "check the archives" you would think they would be easy to use and provide a lot of information. im not trying to complain here too much, just wanted to bring this issue up for discuession. i think it would be very valueable to everyone if the archives contained more up to date info and were easier to search. either that, or have the boards fill up with the same old "how many horse does a K&N add" posts. so whats everyone think and what can WE do to fix it. lets try and make the site better by helping out the admin if we can. i have no idea what is involved with doing the archives, but hey, ill help out if i can.

I always find what I'm looking for when I do a search. Just go to the forum like you would if you were going to post a topic, pick the category you want to search in and go to that category and then click search at the top. That's what I do and it works great for me AND shows the most current topics.

The ones on the front page are the old archives that were before the board went to the UBB format. Some posts are missing anyway, but theres a ton of info around.
