Transmission: World Class T-5 (for now)
Axle/Gears: Strange 12-bolt 3.73
3 Questions......
1) I'm swapping out my 2.77 gear and going w/ a 3.73, do I need to recalibrate my speedometer?
2) I usually roll my car up onto ramps when I work under there, now I need to get the whole car up on jackstands and i'm wondering..can I put the jack under the differential to jack the rear without hurting anything? Also can I use that beefy cross member under the engine to jack the front without hurting anything?
3) I recently had an Edelbrok 67gph fuel pump installed on my car. When the tank has more than 1/4 in it, it sounds like the pump will "humm" intermittantly for 3-4 seconds every 20-25 minutes or so. If I open the gas cap and release the pressure, it doesn't seem to happen again until I run the car. Any ideas of what this could be? (obviously I think it's the pump since it's the only thing new and electrial back there, but I'd prefer a more seasoned opinion)

1. any gear change will need a speedo calibration
2. i use the diff to jack up the rear on mine, no problems there. As for the front im not sure as i usually drive it up on blocks.
3. sounds like your getting a vapor lock if your tank is getting pressure or vacume. possible plugged vent, try a venting gas cap if you dont want to chase down lines.

Thanks Sonix & 84Z. If I may ask a follow up question, can I set the rear down on the stands using the axle tube and where up front are good points for the stands?

my rear sway bar is in the way, so I couldn't use the axle tubes.
I used the LCA's, or the brackets on the axle for the LCA.
My car is on the rear frame rail area right now..
I use the front control arm, right below the coil spring (the pocket), for jack stands in the front.

Can also use the pivot point where the A-arms attach to that big front crossmember for stands. In the rear you can also use the frame itself just in front of the LCA attachments. Many times, when doing rear end work, you can't jackstand the LCA's, as they need to move or get detached. If your changing out the rear, you'll need to jack in front of them, not on them.

Thank you all for the responses. Man..nothing beats a PICTURE! F-BIRD, that rocks! I don't really care for lying under a 3400lb car so that's why I wanted to ask all you pros out there. Thanks again fellas.

one thing about about using the front k member as a jack point, make sure you're on level ground. I jacked there on my c1500 the truck wasn't level and the weight shifted and it fell about the time I putting my jack stands under it. I nearly pissed myself.
