Got the wrong oil pan :(

Is there ANY way to make an oil pan that was made for a newer block (Dipstick on the Passenger side), fit onto an old block (197? 400) with a drivers side dipstick? I'm not sure if I can return it yet (bought it from an individual, not a company), so I am trying to explore my options. Thanks guys.

I don't think so but you might be able to take it to a swap meet or a junk yard and trade it off if you can. There is specfic pans for the different types of blocks and this is why.

I know that, its just something I forgot to specify This is kinda a special pan, too. Its a Hamburger's Racing oil pan, and I got it for a good price. I'll have to get in touch with them to see if there is any way to exchange it for the correct pan. Anyone have any ideas?

Some pans have a "double bubble" on the sides to allow for either block.

If yours is for the right hand dip stick only, you need a new one.
