First make sure the air dam is good.
I put new air dams on both of our Birds, and they both now run at 185 degrees.

I replaced my stock 195 degree thermostat with the 180 degree High Flow and made a manual fan switch.
This setup works great for me. My car never gets hot. I can always control the coolant temp by using the manual switch or I can let the ECM control it.

All you need is a toggle switch and about 12 feet of wire. Wire the switch inside your car to a ground, then to the wire from the sensor going into your passenger side head. When grounded your fans should turn on. I drilled a hole and threaded a switch through my fuse box to run this way.
Ok guys, i had posted this question a while back, but i still didn't solve my problem. My fan ain't starting. I turn on my ac, it doesn't start, so i replaced the relay. I tried it again, it still doesn't start. I know my fan motor works cuz we checked it out in autozone, they tested it, it was good. WHat can be the problem. I heard that pepboys carries some type of wiring that comes with relays and cesors (something like that) that helps you control your fan. Is this worth it? Thanx for any info!

You can wire the fan to the ignition if you don't use the car in cold weather. You could also get an aftermarket engine driven fan
