defroster/heater controls
Only my defroster works, move the selector and still only defroser
is this electrical or avacuum problem ?

Vacuum. All the deflector doors are operated by vacuum solenoids. If you find out you need some, let me know, I got three or four for sale.

This is a common thirdgen problem. In my case, the selector itself was leaking. Stick your ear to the HVAC controls. If you can hear a hiss, you've probably located your problem. If not, a search will help.

If the hvac looses vacume for any reason it will default to defrost for safety reasons.
If you dont hear any hissing in the console start fishing for the line that runs to the engine.
