Info I needed yesterday!!

I need to find schematics or diagrams of the installation of a speedometer cable/housing for a 1985 Camaro. Detailed instructions would be great. If going thru the firewall is a option and if it is..how?? ASAP definitely!! Gracias.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Not much to diagram or schematize....

Does the car have cruise?

What's the real problem? (i.e., why are you working on the speedo cable in teh first place?)

it's actually pretty simple. the cable on my 85 goes straight out the firewall (through a bushing), down to the inboard side of the driver subframe rail, where its held in place by two or three clips bolted to the subframe. from there it screws directly into the transmission. on the transmission end of mine, there is a metal casing around the cable that makes a smooth 90* curve into the tailshaft. at the speedo end, there is a little clip that fits into the back of the speedometer that needs to be pushed in (towards the cable). I think last time i was able to use a long screwdriver from under the dash to push it.
