Carb/fuel pump for SC engine
Carb/fuel pump for SC engine
I am attempting to build an emissions legal 350 for my 84 Camaro. I am planning an getting a Weiand Pro Street 142 blower. It is emissions legal if, according to Holley, I use the stock carb and all the original emissions equipment. Well I would replace my Q-jet with an aftermarket carb but noone seems to make a replacement for this year. I assume this is because of the computer control of the carb. My question is really what fuel pump can I get away with. I believe the stock fuel pump supplied 6.5 psi of fuel. With the SC I will have to rejet the carb and I don't want starvation problems. Can I get away with a HighPerf model mechanical fuel pump which has a higher psi? Do I have any other options on the carb?

if you worried about the higher pressure, get a fuel pressure regulator.
