Engine cranks but wont start

I have a 1988 5.0 TBI camaro. The engine will crank and start to turn over. But before it starts, it always stalls. Then after that it will only crank and but wont try to turn over. After i have d/c the battery and then reconnected, it does the same thing. Starts to turn over and stalls. Then all it does is cranks. Any suggestions on what to check next. It definetly has fuel and a new battery. I have yet to check any parts of the electrical system.

I take it the timing is accurate?
It sounds like it might [and i stress might] be flooding due to a few reasons. That might explain why it fires once, then after that it does'nt, again assuming the electrics are sound.
Assuming it was running ok before, have you done anything at all to it?

The car sat for 6 years. I know it had mice and supposedly they tried starting the car while charging the battery and it fried the ECM. The old ECM was melted so I replaced the old ECM and made sure the numbers matched. I checked the fusible links and all the fuses. But i cant stay the wires 100% sound. The timing could be off, but it was running before they let it sit. The odd thing is that when i first tried starting it, it ran very rough on its own for about a minute before stalling. Now it wont run on its own for more then a second before stalling. So i assumed theirs spark. Maybe one of the spark plugs is missing and its flooding?Any suggestions on what to check next?

Just some ideas

The mice may have done something when they tried to start it

Clean off the plugs or replace them as a start. Sounds like you may have some crap flow into the injectors. Water or other contaminates may have built up in the fuel system and then got transferred to the injectors on that first startup. Replace the fuel filter then jumper the fuel pump and flush some fuel though the rail to try and clean it out.
Send the injectors out for cleaning possibly if they seem to be giving you problems.

As above, if its been sitting that long, the fuel will have gone off a bit, try all of the above, be nice if you could question the mice.
