today i was goignt hrough BK drive through and my car jsut stalled out and my SES light came on, i put the car in park and staterd it back up and it was fine.....whut could have caused the stall?

There are a few possibilities:

Lack of fuel mixture;

Lack of ignition;

Lack of compression;

Incorrect timing.

With all those items, an engine will generally run. Since your car is an '86 TA, it could have had either of two engines and fuel systems. A little more detail would be good, since diagnosis for a carburetor would be a lot different than for a TPI system.

Incidentally, the SES or MIL lamp should always turn on when the ignition is on and the engine isn't running (Code 12 - no ignition reference pulses).

vader, i have a 305 TPI

 

how does it run otherwise, smooth idle? loosing power etc etc. wut does it idle at?

its idles well and at about 500 rpm there is a slight loss of power as well
