Stripped oil drain plug...
My friend stripped his out oil drain in his '90 IROC with a 5.7 TPI. It isn't that bad but it still leaks. He was talking about drilling out the old threads and re-tapping the hole and using a bigger drain plug but your mains and con-rod bearings do well with metal shavings in them. He asked me whether there is anyway to fix this without raising the motor and removing the oil pan?

Are you sure the pan is stripped, usually the plug will strip first, the pan threads are tougher.
If it is the pan, you can get an oversize drain plug.
Just threads itself in, not my preferance, but if you are in a pinch....

The best I've seen(besides pan replacement) is an oversize plug that has a small plug built into it. That way you won't have to remove the oversize plug again--which usually strips the pan even more.
Just about forgot the 'farmer' method I've seen work. Weld a nut the pan right over the hole. Then install a bolt and gasket to use as the new oil plug.
