Some Waterpupm questions.

Well I have to replace my water pump, just some questions. I aw some aftermarket ones selling for like $20 more then a stock one, so why wouldn't I buy a higher flow one. What brand and model is everyone running. Also I have a serpintine belt system so I have a reverse flow turn? Am I right on this? also do the aftermarket ones have a hook up for the heat on them? Thanks everyone

Stewart Components makes really good pumps for a reasonable amount of $.Check them out at:http://www.stewartcomponents.com/water_pump.htm
I've used their pumps for a few years and they've been great.

I have to replace mine too, i was just about to post on this topic. Is mine a SB Chevy short style or long style??

I'm thinking of a weiand or edelbrock water pump. Whats a good one to get, anyone give me a product number to check out. I have LO3 engine. Looking for something better than stock that flows and pumps more.

I looked at the stewart page witch length would i go with?
the
6.932" length
5.795" Length
Part number would help if anyone has it, I think stage one would be enough.

ALSO
I see they have larger water passages, do you need to get fatter hoses, or is it just inside diameter that is bigger?

For a thirdgen car,the correct Stewart Pump (Stage 1) would be part#13123 for serpentine (1987+) or Part#13113 for std rotation v-belt.Both are Long style pumps (6.932").

So it looks like stewart is our only choice?
I checked out weiand site and they all say not for use on serpintine system ccw rotation. Are there any other choices?

Yes, Edelbrock makes a high volume pump as well. It is a Victor series and it is also Aluminum. I have one on my GTA. It seems to work very well and looks very nice (see pics at site) but mine is a v-belt setup. They make them for serpentine systems as well.
