No fuel gauge input
I am not getting any voltage that I can read on my digital multimeter when I test my fuel gauge input from the tank. I wouldnt imaginge this part could go bad, is it not simply a potentiometer?
any ideas? Maybe it uses a resistance level? I have it hooked up to the green wire on the back of the gauge panel, but dont read anything. Should I read something from the line on my meter? If so, what?
Yes, I had gas in the tank, almost full.

the fuel gage sender is a potentiometer. Reads 90 ohms when full, 0 ohms when empty. Could be your contacts on the connectors are dirty, not making a good electrical connection. Its also possible that this bad connection could be inside of the tank. It might be possible to measure at the connector before it goes to the tank, dont know b/c i measured there when i had no exhaust on. To fix dirty connectors, just scratch them with a knife to remove the corrision.

My overall question is, "Can the sender go bad". If it's just a potentiometer, then i'm ok.
Thanks for the info!
