rotating kit question
I have stripped down my 1979 L48 GEN1 SBC ( 5.7 350 ) with the intention of rebuilding it for the use of road / strip. My mechanic has informed me that there is alot of wear on the crankshaft , camshaft, camshaft followers and bearings so after looking on the internet i have decided to go for a rotating assembly. The problem is i am a novice when it comes to this so i really dont know what is right package for me so i was wondering if you could give me any ideas of packages that would suit my needs.
Not to sure what info about the engine you need so let me know and i will reply with details. What i can tell you is that it is a carb'd engine and i will be replacing the heads for vortec heads also the cam will be replaced . I'm looking to produce an engine with an output of about 300 - 350 bhp / 350 lbs torque , this may be unrealistic ? i am looking for a package that takes the guess work out of rebuilding. Sorry its so vague but as you can tell i'm a novice and as im based in the U.K my mechanic is not up to date with kits available. Many thanks. Craig

Rather than buying a kit you could just have the journals on your crank ground to clean them up. The cam and lifters you'll be wanting to replace anyway.
