HI, help to choose, I want to buy big sbc. That better to choose Motown #084021($2,165.95) or GM performance #12480157($1,725)

From the generalities I've heard, the Motown is the superior product, handles larger displacements easier. Of course, I may be marketing hype prey here.

Let's move this to Tech to see if any better response results.

Mowtown advertises a big-inch capable SBC (I've seen 454 SBC) and attributes it to superior quality control over castings and core placements. There is no apparent rumor mill about problems with them, although that doesn't really guaranty anything.

If you believe the advertising, the Motown castings can be bored 0.050" larger, and have more cooling passages.

Anyone get one of these 400 block in their hands?

What was your first clue? This is probably going to be a complete mail-order setup and build, so any advice we can offer will be crucial. Even spark plugs should be a chore to find.
