Connecting rod question

Hey gang, i am in a rush today so i can't browse for this question. I am rebuilding my 305, i added 350 heads, turned the crank (.010), new pistons, cam (for computer control), but the push rods are my question. the wrist pins are press fit into the piston, do i need a press fit connecting rod or a floating. Next question would be could i go to a 6.00 instead of the stock 5.7 lenght?

Press fit. I think you mean connecting rod instead of pushrod you described. Also u use a lengh rod that your pistons are made for whether its a 5.7 or 6. Cant do both.

Press fit piston needs a press fit rod. Floating rods require floating piston, floating pistons have provisions for snap rings.

No you can not upgrade to 6 in rods with 5.7 in pistons unless you exchange your pistons for 6 in rod pistons.

Make sure you have enough compression with those 350 heads, you may need domed pistons. 5.7 is just fine for a mild engine running low RPMs (less then 6500). Just make sure the rods are checked (magnaflux), peened, and have ARP bolts.

Don't use iron 350 heads on your 305, you will kill the compression because of the larger chamber and lose power.

Get a set of 305 HO heads (#416, 601) or get some 305 TPI heads (#081). The ONLY 350 heads you should use are the Corvette aluminum ones from the late '80s, because they have the same small chamber size as the 305 heads.

There are plenty of 350 heads that are a step backward in performace and a few that are actually semi decent.

What heads particularly did you use?
