dieseling

I have a really wierd problem, I dont know if its always done it but I noticed it did it last time. It doesnt usually keep going after I shut the car off (dieseling) but it did it the last time I shut the car off and the accessories stayed on like the heater fan. It would kinda go in and out when the motor would start to die it would go off when the motor picked back up a lil again it would come back on. what in the hell could cause this?

Check your electrical connections.... Computer controlled quadrajet? My buddy's 84 T/A with an L69 CC Q-jet had a bad dieseling problem and it turned out to be a loose electrical connection to the carb

yea its a computer controlled quadrajet I have the top sensor unplugged im not sure what it does but it runs like **** with it plugged in, I have to pump the gas to make it even move with it plugged in but when its unplugged it runs alright. It doesnt diesel very often but im wondering what the hell would cause the heater fan to come back on when it was doing it

Whats your idle speed? If its too high, it can cause run-on (dieseling). So can an overly lean mixture or too much spark advance.

no the idle speed is fine in gear its around 500 outa gear its around 1k. More then the dieseling which I beileve to be caused by it was overheated. more of what im worried about is the accesories being on when its doin it when the ignition is off

It doesn't sound like true dieseling to me, but more electrical.
I suggest you get the carb fixed properly so it actually runs as it should.

As for the power staying on, I've seen a bad ignition switch in the column do that, and I've seen a failed alternator diode do that.
