Stock Lifters?
Hey guys, I'm going to be rebuilding an engine with just new rings and bearings and such, but was wondering if the rumor i heard is true, that if you put the lifters in different bores then the ones the came in it will cause premature wear. What are the accepted clearances in them. I can mic out all of the lifters and bores but that would be somewhat time consuming, but maybe time well spent. Thanks guys.
Since I'm posting I figured I should ask what heads are better for porting, i've got a set of 882's i heard are junk and a set of 441's which came stock on 69' 350's with 255hp. I know neither of them are great for performance but i just need to get my camaro moving again.

The lifters have a specific wear pattern with the cam lobe they were on, and each is unique. If you swap them, they don't "match" anymore, and they can accelerate cam wear.
