Bogging down all of a sudden???
Bogging down all of a sudden???
Driving on the freeway today my car started bogging down when I went to go pass someone. Never started doing that before. It did that for about 5 miles. No codes, so strange sounds, nothing out of the ordinary except the more I pushed the gas the worse it bogged down.
WTF? Any thoughts?

If your rpms arent jumping when you go to accelerate then it is probably a fuel delivery problem. Im having this same sort of problem when accelerating and the filter is getting changed shortly and if that isnt the problem then on to the pump. I plan on checking the electrical connections first though. Im sure someone else on here give you something a little more specific.

did it go away at all after that or it always runs like crap now? Did you get a check engine light? If so, check your EGR valve. I had this problem on my old RS
Yeah I planned on replacing my fuel filter next week anyway, lol. My new Walbro 255 is in storage and hard to get to so it better not be the filter.
No engine light as I said. My EGR is bolted on but disabled due to the lower manifold I'm using, if it were that it would have been doing it from when I installed it that way 2 years ago.
I reset the ECM by removing the fuse but it's still doing it. Still no codes. I'm thinking either my cat bit the dust (new one is actually in my trunk, was going to go in with fuel filter, lol!) or a sensor like the TPS or something but there are no codes.
Wierd...
I'm going to pray it gets by another week because next week I'm replacing my header gaskets, cat, plugs, fuel filter, o2, etc.
I tried buring another PROM too BTW that also did not help.

Yeah, my car now is to the point where it struggles to accelerate out of first gear and if im on a hill, wow. But then it will start to work a little better and i dont have a check engine light on either. I just dont want it to be the pump because i know the horror stories. Will the check engine light come on if its a sensor?
