fpr?
car wouldnt start, so i primed the lines then went and pressed down the schrader valve and got nothing. so i went and primed the lines again this time with a buddy holding down the schrader valve as i was priming, and gas came flying out. so im pretty sure its the pressure regulator but, just need someone to verify that for me.

Using some smooth jawed pliers, clamp the fuel return line (where it's made of rubber). Prime pump and see if the pressure holds. If it does, the FPR is leaking. Also pull the vacuum line off the FPR and verify the line is dry.

i did pull the vac line off and it was dry, i also clamped the return line. i figured that if the fpr was leaking, that the car would start with the return line clamped but, i was wrong. when i unclamped the return line after priming the pump the car made a wierd gurgleing sound, any ideas?

The gurgling sound was probably just the fuel returning back to the tank when you unclamped the return line. Right after I rebuilt my eng, the AFPR leaked back to the tank when eng was shut-off. The next day it started holding press. Apparently some crap got in the AFPR then worked its' way out. Eng ran OK the whole time.
As long as the FPR isn't leaking externally (or out the vac line), and it keeps the fuel press at the correct value while pump is running, the eng should run OK. I would get a fuel press gauge on it just to verify the fuel press is ok with pump running, then move on to something else; like if the injs are firing and plugs are firing.
