Engine: 2.8l-(350 on the way)
Transmission: auto-(for the wife)
its all timing

When I set my timing, after re-attaching the set timing wire,I notice the timing isn't where I set it,is this normal?

Yep.

Least as long as your car is still computer controlled it is.

thats why u set it with the EST disconnected, that way the ecm knows what the actual base timing is set at.
