engine down while charging battery
I did not drive my car for a while.
So I turned engine on to avoid battery discharge and stayed an hour at Parking mode. Suddenly, battery gauge indicator moves down and engine turned off.
I tried to turn it on again at Parking mode but to fail.
Two hour later after business meeting, I tried at Neutral mode. It worked.
What happened?
My friend told me that oil supply is stopped at Parking mode.
Is it true?
Is it harmful to my car that turning engine on at Parking mode for a long time?

Car: 91 GTA, 91 Formula, 89 TTA
Engine: all 225+ RWHP
Transmission: all OD
Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
Long story short, if u talk to the people who make batteries, it takes roughly 45 min of continuous highway driving to replenish the power lost from the battery from one starting cycle.
It is wise to run the car every now and than to keep everything fresh and lubed if u have access to it and are able to move it around aka drive it to warm up engine, trans, rear end, etc.
Best bet for battery maintenance is to either get a trickle charger you can plug in when the car is not being driven for awhile or get a regular charger type and trickle(slow) charge it once or twice a mth.
Kind of broken english in your post(assuming its your second language:-)). The volt guage shouldnt drop below the 13 mark in the car, if it did u have other issues. A bad battery can quickly kill an alternator, it has to work overtime if it cannot use the battery as backup at low rpm and under heavy load. Conversely a alternator malfucntion can literally cook a otherwise good battery.
Get your battery tested and check out your charging system.
